The City Church Internship is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to grow, serve, and lead in a dynamic, faith-filled environment. Rooted in a commitment to discipleship, this program is designed to deepen your relationship with Jesus and equip you to serve the local church with excellence.

As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience across various ministry areas, work closely with passionate leaders, and develop practical skills that will prepare you for both ministry and life.

This internship is about more than just what you do—it’s about who you’re becoming. Through mentorship, spiritual development, and practical ministry training, you’ll leave this experience not only with new skills but also with a deeper understanding of your purpose and calling.

Must be between the ages of 15 - 30 years old at the beginning of the employment period.

Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.

Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Though not mandatory, we love to see applicants who meet this criteria:

MINISTRIES

The Worship and Production Assistant works closely with the Worship and Production Directors to support and execute all aspects of worship services, special events, and media production. This role ensures smooth operations behind the scenes and contributes to the overall worship experience through media, technical support, and administrative tasks.

WORSHIP

The Youth Intern will work closely with the Youth Director to help plan, implement, and facilitate engaging activities and events for City Youth. This role supports the overall growth and development of the youth program while contributing to the day-to-day operations and event management.

CITY YOUTH

The Creative Arts Interns works closely with the Creative Director to support and execute a variety of media projects, including graphic design, photography, videography, and content creation across multiple platforms. This role is key to ensuring that all digital and print materials align with the church’s branding, messaging, and goals.

CREATIVE

The City Kids Intern plays a pivotal role in creating a positive and engaging environment for children. You will develop and implement programs that support the spiritual development of children while aligning with the mission and values of The City Church. 

CITY KIDS

The Young Adults Intern is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing conferences, gatherings, and social events for The City Church. This role also includes providing administrative support to ensure smooth operations for new attendee gatherings and assisting with marketing efforts to enhance outreach and engagement. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, and skilled at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

YOUNG ADULTS

The Events Coordinator supports the Operations and Events Director in planning, organizing, and executing events while providing exceptional administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of church activities. Strong administrative skills are preferred for this role, as it involves managing logistics, budgets, schedules, and communication.

EVENTS

This position combines building maintenance, groundskeeping, and leadership development responsibilities to ensure The City Church operates effectively and aligns with its values. The role requires a proactive, organized individual with leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining the building’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.

OPERATIONS

The Admin Intern provides essential support to the church staff by assisting with administrative tasks, organizing City Groups, managing data in Planning Center Online, and helping with day-to-day operations. This role offers hands-on experience in church administration, event coordination, and team support while developing organizational and communication skills in a ministry setting.

I loved interning at The City Church because it gave me a chance to contribute more in our church community, which formed many new friendships that have lasted beyond the internship! I enjoyed exploring the different areas of the church, from media production to kids ministry, and I have gained so many beneficial transferable skills.
